Quite why new sitcom Boomers is based in Thurnemouth - Norfolk’s only West facing resort, is all a bit odd. Having sat through the first episode (I wouldn’t make a special effort) it doesn’t seem to have any need for the fictitious yet enormously specific location given if nothing else that it’s filmed in Herne Bay. For reference purposes if you do to want to visit Norfolk’s only West facing resort Hunstanton’s where you should be heading.

Another recent postcard find. This time this tremendous card postmarked the 29th July 1925 addressed to Mrs Percy in Altrincham.

On my travels last week I was pleased as punch to find a couple of original unused Donald McGill postcards - who just over sixty years ago "stood trial at Lincoln Crown Court for a breach of the 1857 Obscene Publications Act".

It’s been a while since I purchased music in a cassette format. However this is well worth the effort - the new single (cassingle?) from Norwich’s Mega Emotion. Superfine stuff.

Whilst I appreciate that this may very well be Bury’s answer to Stonehenge they do perhaps need to work on it’s visual impact a little. Because to the uninformed eye that looks quite like a field.

Have followed @IMcMillan on twitter for a while and his morning stroll tweets are always a treat. Particularly like the thought of “trying to find something new every day from the same mile”, which reminds me of George Borrow (again) : “There are no countries in the world less known by the British than these self same British Islands”. Link to original article here.

I had no idea about Midsummer Boulevard’s alignment which if true is rather lovely. Must investigate Milton Keynes further. (From Zoe Pilger’s review of Future City at the Milton Keynes Gallery.)
